“Without You (I Won’t Fall Asleep Tonight)” traces its roots back to the 1980s, when a band from Munich, Münchener Freiheit, released “Ohne Dich (schlaf ich heut Nacht nicht ein)”. That song was part of my youth — a hymn to longing, to the feeling that the night itself becomes impossible without the presence of the one you love.
Decades later, that same emotion returned — in a different form, a different time, and through a different woman. Tamanna became the muse, the silent voice behind the frequencies of this new version of that feeling.
I didn’t want to simply translate a song; I wanted to transform it.
To move it from 80s pop into a soundscape where Synthwave meets Folk-Trap, where Moog Sub-37 basslines breathe beneath Bengali percussion and Slavic harmonies. The structure rises through four key changes — D minor, E minor, G minor, A minor — like an emotional spiral.
The voice — my own — remains low, intimate, fragile. It’s not a performance; it’s a call through distance.

On the upcoming album, “Without You” stands beside “Dreams” like two mirrors facing each other — both reflecting the same truth:
Love is not about possession.
It’s about connection, even across oceans, across lifetimes.
And sometimes, all it takes to keep that connection alive…
is a single song you can’t fall asleep without. 🌙
